Step 3: Cut Out the Mask

Carefully cut out the shark mask along the solid lines. If your child is too young to handle scissors, assist them with this step.

How to cut the eye holes out of the shark mask.

Be sure to cut out the eye holes so your child can see through the mask. Have an adult help the child to get started. Carefully push the tip of the scissors through the center and then carefully cut out the piece.

Glueing the fins to the shark mask.

Step 4: Glue the Fins

Once you've cut out all the pieces, it's time to bring your shark to life by attaching the fins. Using a glue stick, carefully apply glue to the tabs on the fins. Then, press the fins onto the sides of the shark's head, ensuring they are securely attached. Make sure the fins are aligned properly to give your shark a realistic look. Let the glue dry for a few minutes to ensure the fins stay in place.

Step 5: Attach the Elastic Cord

Next, you'll need to attach an elastic cord to the back of the shark mask so your child can wear it comfortably. Start by measuring the elastic cord to fit around your child's head. For reference, I used a 13-inch piece, but you may need to adjust this based on your child's head size. Have an adult help with this step by using a glue gun to attach the ends of the elastic cord to the back of the shark's head, near the eyes. Make sure the cord is securely attached and allow the glue to cool and harden completely before letting your child try on the mask.
