Easy Frankenstein Pumpkin Painting
Step 1: Using a permanent marker, draw a zigzag line around the top of the pumpkin. This line will divide Frankenstein’s face from his hair.
Step 2: Paint the area below the zigzag line green. I chose a vibrant shade of green to make the face pop, but feel free to use any shade you prefer!
Step 3: Above the zigzag line, paint the hair black. This will create the perfect contrast with the green face.
Step 4: Next, use black paint to create two circles for the eyes. These should be evenly spaced and placed in the center of the green face.
Step 5: While the eyes are drying, grab your permanent marker and draw the mouth. For a classic Frankenstein expression, draw a simple "U" shape just below the eyes.
Step 6: Add some scars to Frankenstein's face! I drew one on the forehead and one on the cheek. To create the scars, draw a straight line and then add smaller, horizontal lines across it.
Step 7: Once the black paint is completely dry, finish off the eyes. Dip the end of your paintbrush into white paint, and gently dot the black circles. Add a larger white dot on the top left of each eye and a smaller one on the bottom right to give the eyes a bit of character.
Now that your Frankenstein pumpkin painting is complete, you can admire your spooky creation! The green face, black hair, and signature Frankenstein scars give it a classic look, making it perfect for Halloween decorations. At this point, you can call it finished, but if you want to add an extra touch of creativity, you can continue by creating bolts to attach to the sides of Frankenstein’s head. This will give your pumpkin an even more iconic look! Using some simple materials like gray paper and glue the bolts on for that final Halloween flair.
How To Make The Bolts
To make the bolts, start by taking a piece of gray cardstock paper and folding it in half. Draw the shape of a bolt on the folded cardstock.
While keeping the paper folded, carefully cut out the bolt with scissors—this way, you’ll get two identical bolts.
The bottom part of each bolt will have a small section to fold over. Apply glue to this folded section and attach the bolts to the sides of the pumpkin. I used hot glue for this step, so be sure that an adult handles the glueing for safety!
