Directions for Coffee Filter Bald Eagle Craft
Step 1: Print the Bald Eagle Template
Begin by printing the Bald Eagle template on 8.5x11 white cardstock paper. This sturdy paper will help ensure your Bald Eagle is durable and easy for little hands to work with. Directions on where to find the Coffee Filter Bald Eagle Template can be found further down the page.
Step 2: Color the Bald Eagles
Let your child color the bald eagles using their favorite markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Encourage them to be as creative as they like, adding details and vibrant colors to bring their eagles to life.
Step 3: Cut Out Each Bald Eagle
Carefully cut out each Bald Eagle from the cardstock. Make sure to follow the lines closely for the best results.
Step 4: Color the Coffee Filters
Next, take your coffee filters and color them in using washable markers. For the best results, ensure that the entire coffee filter is covered with color.
Kids can explore different patterns or go sporadic with the color placement—it doesn't matter as long as they're having fun and expressing their creativity!
Step 5: Spray the Coffee Filters with Water and Let Dry
Spray the colored coffee filters lightly with water. As the water hits the filters, the colors will begin to bleed together, creating a beautiful tie-dye effect. Allow the filters to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Step 6: Fold
Fold the coffee filter so it's folded in half once. Gather the center of the coffee filter by pinching the middle.
Step 7: Attach the Coffee Filters to the Bald Eagles
Finally, tape the coffee filter wings to the back of the bald eagle's body. Position the wings so they appear to be spread out, ready for flight. And there you have it—your very own Coffee Filter Bald Eagle!
Enjoy making this craft with your kids and watch their faces light up as their colorful eagles come to life.
